In the middle school we explore life as we  focus on authentic communication.

  • 6th grade Language students explore French and Spanish through a 22 day Exploratory Program, then sign up for the language of their choice.

  • 7th grade French students have thirty five minute classes every day. 

  • 8th grade French students have thirty five minute classes every day.

 Students learn to be proficient in the language and knowledgeable about the culture of French-speaking countries. 

  • We focus on developing the students' ability to speak, understand, read and write French. By the 8th grade the classes are total immersion.

  •  All interactions are in French. 

  • We have developed standards which are assessed for the 8th grade and French 3.

Middle School students can earn two High School language credits by successfully completing French III at the High School in their Freshman year.

  • In grade 7 our students complete the equivalent of French I at the High School . 

  • In grade 8 they complete the equivalent of French II at the High School.

             We use technology to enhance and enrich student learning.  


Our students are leaders in technology

Using the Internet to research with an authentic sense
 of purpose creates a major impact on student learning.
Adolescents are very motivated when their learning satisfies 
their desire for self-expression and social interaction. 
We use multi-media projects to integrate their 
learning with their creativity.
