The First article I read was the Panda Water Aerobics article. I found this article very interesting. It surprised me to find out that so many pandas live in one place. The article states that 48 Giant Pandas live there, and there are also a lot of baby pandas. What was even more surprising was that scientists discovered that even Pandas excercise. What I mean by that is that they found a 9 year old mom panda lifting her legs up and down. They described it as if she was doing water aerobics. I found that very funny and amusing. The Second article I read was Earthquake Aftermath Observations. I found this article very depressing, because ever since the earthquake hit many people have been flung out onto the streets. Also, many people are scared to enter buildings for fear that they will fall down and that they will die. It makes me very sad to think that so many people died. "As long as there is a glimmer of hope, we will continue the rescue operation!" Those words came from Wen Jiabao, who is a young man that flew into China when the earthquake hit. He has been directing the relief operations throughout where the earthquake hit. To me he sounds like a very nice person for saying that, because he is pretty much saying that they are going to succeed and even though it is a sad time, there is still light at the end of the tunnel. I think these articles were both funny and serious, and they were a good thing to read since we are learning about China. I feel very sad for all of China and I hope they can gain the courage and stick through it.
