~*~Description of an American Mink~*~
Description of an American Mink: Mink has usually  dark brown fur with white patches on the chin, chest, and throat areas.  The fur is soft and thick, with oily guard hairs that waterproof the mink coat.  The body is long and slender with short legs, and a pointy, flat face.

American Minks food:  The American Mink eats during the summer, small mammals, as shrews, rabbits, mice, and muskrats.  Fish, duck, and other water fowl provide.

The American Minks different stages:  The Minks gestation period varied from40-75 days.  The young babies are born in late spring.  April; or May. They open their eyes at 3 1/2 months.  They stay with their mom through the summer until fall.  Male and Females begin mating at 10 months.  The average lifespan is around 10 years.

1.) A few natural enemies are, coyotes, bobcats.

2.) Minks pelts are useful for the fur market.

3.) It's a member of the weasel family.

4.) They're brought here from North America in 1929.

5.) Active both day and night.

6.) First breeding Mink in the wild was South Devon.

In summary, the positive impact that humans have on the Mink are, Mink pelts are wonderful furs on the market, and the most luxurious.   The negative impact that humans have on the Mink are water fowl or other game species.
