Description |
| The snowshoe hare are ranges in length from 413-518mm of which 39-52mm are tails. Males are slightly smaller then the females. In the summer, the coat is grizzled rusty or a grayish brown and a white belly. the face and legs are cinnamon brown. the ears are brownish with black tips and a white or creamy borders. During the winter the fur is almost entirely white , except for black eye lids and the backend tips. |

Habitat and food |
| Snowshoe hares are most often found in open fields ,fence rows, swamps, riverside tickets, cedar bogs and conifers lowlands. Snowshoes Hares prefer dense stand of young conifers or bushy deciduous growth where there lots of food and good shelter. In the winter snowshoe hares eat twigs and bark off trees and the summer they eat leaves, grass, buds and soft plants. |

| This species' is found throughout Canada and in northern united states. Population are found as the rocky mountains. its also found North America throughout Boreal forest. In the southern part of this forest in the east they are found along the Appalachian Mountains and in the west along the Rocky mountains far south as North Cariolina and New Mexico. |

Life cycle |
| The snowshoe hare breeds through march to Augusta. the generation period is 50 days. each litter has has about 9 babies. the average life Spain of the snowshoe is some live for about 3 or more a year in the wild and live up to 8 years captivity. The babies leave three days after they are born 3 days after that are birth and come back for milk for three week's after wards. |

Human impact |
| Hares may damage trees , in addition to this they are important preys. many predators whose fur as high valued prey especially for snowshoe hares these include gray fox, red fox, coyote, wolf, lynx and bobcat. |
