Habitat

These beavers live in dams in streams, lakes and rivers near woods.  They need to live somewhere where they can build a dam.  They make their dam out of willow trees, aspens and poplars, because the wood is easier to cut through.  They cut the trees down with their teeth, and the tree will fall across the river or stream.  Beavers  live with their families, not in a community, where they would live with other  beavers.

Range

Like it's name tells, this beaver is found in most parts of the U.S., and Canada.
