Asa Anderson vs. Robert E. Lee

By Jared

Have you  ever  been mad at someone  who makes fun of you? Well Asa Anderson  has. In the book, The Uncivil War, by Shelia Solomon Klass, Asa was mad at  a cute boy from North Carolina  named Robert E. Lee. He  made fun of her and called her names because he liked her.

This book was very well written with a lot of action between Asa and Robert. The best part was when Asa was trying to get back at Robert for calling her fatso and making a mean poem about her. When  Asa's  mom had a baby ten weeks early and had to go to the I.C.U.,  the class sends the baby  a Chinese birthday card with all of their names on it. Asa was surprised that Robert signed it too. Then the next day Robert  gave Asa a Babe Ruth card for  baby Leif. From that point on Asa,  liked Robert a lot more than she had and they became friends.

In conclusion, the book, The Uncivil War is a perfect example of the fact that you can only stay mad at someone for a little while, not forever. It's also a good book for any age. It teaches a lot of lessons about kids and what they do when they're  teenagers.
