Creating a Universe

by Kate

Lynne Rea Perkins creates a magnificent, believable universe of  of her own in the book All Alone in the Universe.  She does a great job at defining the main character, Debbie and making the story dramatic, suspenseful , and realistic.

The story  is well written and organized, it is also realistic in the way that it is so much like a young girl's life.  The plot is so well written you feel bad for the characters and have to keep reading.  Debbie, the main character has a well developed personality, and is an excellent character.  The plot is also very realistic and believable because Debbie best friend leaves her for another girl and Debbie is left behind.  Lynne Rea makes this story believable, and dramatic by using a typical event for the age group.

The story has a great plot, well developed characters, and all the way around is a great book.  Debbie loses her best friend but makes other friends.  It has a terrific ending.
