Customs, Entertainment and Holidays

  • One custom that is unique in Cuba is that Cuban's love to dance, and they love music.  Another custom of Cuba is that they celebrate July 26 as the day that Cuban parents give presents to their kids.  They celebrate this because of the three kings gave the presents to baby Jesus.
  • The main holidays that are celebrated in Cuba are the anniversary of the victory of the Revolution New Year on January 1st, the beginning of the Revolution on February 24th, and the attack on the Presidential Palace on March 13th.
  • During these celebrations,  people have celebrations and parties.  It is just like we celebrate our holidays here, in America.
  • In Cuba, there is no national costume, but whenever Cubans dress up they do so with an innate sense of style, and exuberance.  For an ordinary day in Cuba, the people wear loose, colorful clothing, often short-sleeved, or sleeveless, appropriate to the climate.
