Customs, Entertainment and Holidays
Venezuela has many different traditions and customs. This section will inform you of some of them and what they are about and how they are celebrated.
Ninety-six percent of all Venezuelans practice the Roman Catholic religion and celebrate its holidays as well as some unique holidays of their own. They also celebrate some non-religious holidays.
They celebrate Christmas, Easter Sunday, New Years Day, International Labor Day, Columbus Day, as well as their independence day on April 19th, and Battle of Carababo on June 24th. Corpus Christi is also a widely celebrated festival.
The indigenous Venezuelans keep many of their traditional garments. For earrings, women wear sticks with decorations and mostly everyone wears some sort of face paint or body paint. The majority of the population of all Venezuelans wear Western attire (T-shirts and pants).
The minority of Venezuelans also practice Protestantism, a division of Christianity.
