    I recently read The River by Gary Paulsen.  The River is a book about a boy that is stranded out on a lake.  He is with an unconscious  man.  Can he get them 116 miles down river on a raft?  I really enjoyed this book because it is descriptive and realistic.  

     I like this book because it is descriptive.  For example it tells you how he found the wood and how he made the raft and how he bound the logs together.  Another example is  how he learned to hit the flint rock to make fire.

       In conclusion I think this book is a great book.  I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a interesting book.
