Megan's Book Review
I recently read Small Steps by Peg Kehret. This is a story about a young girl named Peg, who catches a disease called polio. During this book, Peg is in Sheltering Arms, a rehabilitation center for polio patents. Sheltering Arms helps peg conquer many things that might seem so little to us. I think that this book is a great read and you are able to live a life that many of us have not lived before.
The main character goes through a lot in this book and brings you along with her. You discover many of her thoughts and feelings as if you were her. I love the character that the author described all throughout the book. Peg was strong willed and not willing to give up. Because this time, her life really was depending on it. Bit by bit Peg gets better. And it's not just the medicine or the hot packs, it's the way Peg decided to take a problem that stood in her way.
I love this book because it gives you a ball of feelings you've never felt and a world you've never seen. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good read!
