This is a picture of one of Bolivia's beautiful Altiplano plateu. In general the country is colder and drier in the west. And warmer and wetter in the east. The southern parts are also drier and and cooler then the northern plains were tropical conditions are. |

The western third of Bolivia is covered by the Andes. The mountainous highlands are made up of three distinct regions; Cordillera Occidental, Cordillera Real, and Altipano. Most of the rivers in Bolivia are part of the Amazon river system. There are also many plains. The top three lakes in Bolivia are: Lake Titicaca, Lake Poopo, and the Red Lake. |

The population of Bolivia in the year 2000 is: 8,137,113. There are also two main indigenous populations in Bolivia. The first is Tiwanaku. This enduring indigenous population was around from 50 A.D. till 1,000 A.D. The second one is the Incas. Between 1,200 and the middle of the fithteenth century they developed and rose to dominate the other tribe of the region. |

The capital of Bolivia is La Paz. La Paz is the highest capitals in the world and it looks like a moon crater. Fortunately, the life and color of La Paz is found in it's people and culture. Not it's Landscape. |

Bolivia is a landlocked country. It is surrounded by Peru and Chile to the west and by Brazil to the north and east. And to the South is Argentina. The line of longitude that goes directly down the middle is 64 degrees west and 22 degrees south latitude. |
