Nicaragua is very coastal, with about 560 miles of coastline. At 50,193 square miles, Nicaragua is a little bigger than Louisiana and a little smaller then North Carolina. It has extensive Atlantic coastal plains rising to the central interior mountains. Its highest point is at the top of Mount Saslaya, with a peak at 6, 561 feet.
The total population of Nicaragua is 5,350,000, with a population density of 107 people per mile. Its distribution is 63% urban, and 37% rural.
Its capital is Managua
The absolute location of Nicaragua is 13° north latitude and 85° west longitude at the center. It's relative location is in South America, between Honduras and Costa Rica.
In Nicaragua they receive about 60 inches of rain a year, which lasts through May to November. The temperature averages at about 80% throughout the whole year.
