Scott's Book Review
I recently read a book called Holes by Louis Sachar. Stanley was accused of stealing some shoes and was sent to a camp for bad boys. In the end Stanley's lawyer found him not guilty and let him go home. I really enjoyed this book because the plot was very complex and Stanley had to face a lot of problems at the same time.
Stanley had conflicts with the other boys when they first met like when the boys make fun of him. Also, he had conflicts with the warden and Mr. Sir because they are greedy and mean. Like when Stanley and Zero found a suitcase and Mr. Sir and the warden tried to take it away from them. Stanley also has conflicts with the weather because in the desert it is always very hot and is hard to get water.
In conclusion I thought this was a good book because the boys had to trust and work together in the desert. I would recommend this book to kids ages 9-12 because Stanley is around that age. I think it is good to read a book with the main character your age because then you can relate your self to what they are thinking and doing.
