Book Review

Number the Stars

I recently read a book called  Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry.  In the book there were two kids during the  war, one kid was Ellen, who was Jewish,  and her friend Anne Marie who was not. Anne Marie's   family took Ellen with them to their house,  because there was a war at the time and the war was agents the Jews. At the end of the book the war stopped  and the Jewish girl,  Ellen was safe because they once had a daughter that looked like Ellen. So they used her baby pictures of their older daughter.

I liked the book a lot because it was about the war and it was like you were in the war. I like how it gave a lot of description of  what it was like to be in the war. For example, they barely had money  to afford food and warm clothes Also, they didn't have bedding or sheets (blankets) and there were  soldiers guarding each side of the street.

Number the Stars  is a great book with a lot of detail. I would recommend it to other kids.
