The Island
She had been locked down in this black darkness for days, it was cold and she didn’t even want to think about how horrible she looked now. Dawn could feel her hair slowly becoming more and more tangled. She silently cussed each time the boat rocked her around. Dawn couldn’t even see her own hands when she put them up to her face. She could smell the salty seawater in the air, and could taste it too. She could hear the Captain and his crew walking around on their peg legs, talking to each other.
Dawn was a very rich and respectable lady, she only ate and drank the finest things, and now, she had been kidnapped, thrown in the bottom of some ship. How dare some ugly pirates just scoop her and put her in such an obnoxious place.
“THUMP THUMP!” She could hear all of those disgusting things walking around with their horrible wooden peg legs. The captain beckoned over to some low voiced man.
“Get over here and do your job or, kooeek!”
Dawn imagined him running his fingers over his throat, threatening to cut the other man’s throat.
Whenever she got the chance, she would scream.
“Where are you taking me, what have I done!” All she got back was a loud reply from someone else, like.
“You’ll see lady!” or
“I wouldn’t say that if I were you!!”
Finally, Dawn got what she wanted. The pirates got so fed up with her nonsense that they sent down a large bulky man, who growled,
“Hurry up and get up there before I get my hands on you.”
Dawn thought that this was highly rude, and disrespectful, but she obeyed. She stumbled and stopped to get her sea legs, but it was no use, the man just pushed her forwards. Then she slowly climbed up through the hole the man had come down through. She squinted in the sunlight, it burned her eyes, compared to what she had seen for that last few days. Her dress was scrunched up around her knees, and around her feet it was wet with seawater. Even her new hair barrette had fallen out, or it could have been stuck in her now rats nest hair do.
The ship's deck didn’t seem to suit her, now not so beautiful dress, and wet brand new high-heeled shoes. She almost fell off the bloody ship.
All of a sudden, what must have been the captain called out to a man who had one eye and wore a bandana around his neck. They whispered, and then the man with the bandana came over and took her to a room.
She almost burst out laughing when she saw the ugly room. It had brown walls, and the even darker wooden floors, like the ones in the rest of the ship. Then, the bandana man closed the door, and locked it tight.
What must have been hours later, she heard all of the thugs yelling, and commanding them to do things like,
“Roll up the sails”,
“Drop the anchor”
Then it happened…
A skinny nosed pirate with sweat running down his face made her get up, and brought her to the door, she stumbled so many times, that he picked her up, and carried her to the captain.
“What are you going to do to me you group of horrible in-despicable things!” Dawn yelled. Without a word, the skinny nosed man brought her to the end of the ship and clumsily wobbled down the steps. He dropped Dawn on the warm sand. Then he walked back to the ship and said,
“Oh nothing…”
Dawn thought he was going to come back, but soon she was sitting alone on the
beach, watching them pull in the rusty anchor, waving smiling their ugly grins, and laughing as they sailed away.
