RUBY HOLLER
I recently read Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech. It is a story about two twins, Dallas and Florida, living at an orphanage. They are miserable because the owners are mean and unfair. In the end, the twins get paired up with two ,very sweet foster parents, Tiller and Sairy.
With every good book there is always some ups and downs. I really enjoyed this book because it is detailed, exiting, and because you cannot put the book down! I also liked how there was a "bad guy" (Mr. Trepid) and a "good Group" (Tiller, Sairy, Dallas, Florida, and Z). These kind of things are exiting. A down about the book is the beginning. The beginning is very slow and boring. If you read the beginning of the book and decide to stop because it is boring, don't stop, because it gets to be a really great book.
I like how there was a bad guy and a good group because that kind of stuff is really exciting. Tiller and Sairy have a lot of money, and keep it in an under-stone fund, (a bank under a rock.) Mr. Trepid tried to steal it. It was exiting because I couldn't expect what was going to happen next.
Ruby Holler is a great book. I would recommend it for all 6th graders.
