I Roy, and my friend, Matt were sitting in two chairs right in front of the principal’s desk, ”How do we get into these messes?” I whispered to Matt.
“Shut up, Mr. Joe is coming,” muttered Matt.  “Hehehe…Joe. Hehehe…sulfuric acid.” Mr. Joe walked into the room and sat on his chair. Mr. Joe was a tall man.

“Well, boys. It seems that your teacher has caught you snoozing in class.” Mr. Joe said.
“ Mr. John’s class is extremely boring, he only makes us watch videos of drying paint!” I exclaimed.
“Not, true Mr. Roy, he also shows videos of peeling paint-but that’s off the subject! Falling  asleep in class is still inexcusable, I’m afraid I’m going to have to give you detention.” said Mr. Joe.
             “Great,” muttered Matt.
“Dang it,”  I thought, waiting for three hours sitting on a desk, in Mr. John’s class. Matt was five desks away from me. “Maybe I can catch a nap in this class again.” I put my arm on the desk and head on my arm. I closed my eyes. I have awoken from a force poking me in the face.
“Hello? Roy? Wake up sleepy head,” said Matt’s voice.
“What?” I muttered. I rubbed my eyes to see Matt, with a pencil. “ What’s going on, and what poked me?”
“Well, our detention is done, you fell asleep for three hours, Mr. Joe told me to wake you up and catch the late bus, and I poked you in the face with a pencil to wake you up.” Explained Matt.
“Wait,” I said, “ there’s something I’ve always wanted to do.” With I grin, a walked to the chalkboard and seeing that Mr. John had already written tomorrow’s assignment, and there was a piece of chalk….
I laughed as I ran down the hallway. “ Very nice,” said Matt, “But we can’t miss the late bus.” We finally made it to the front door to see down the road, a yellow bus fading away. “Perfect.” I groaned.
“We can always call our parents.” Matt said. We ran to the nearest room with a phone. But all we got was “Please leave a message after the beep.”
“We can walk home, I know the path.” I told Matt.
“Alright, let’s go then.” He responded. We walked to the front door and pushed on the door. But it wouldn’t budge. We looked through the transparent door to see the janitor driving away.
“If we were here a couple seconds earlier, we could’ve caught up with the janitor!” Matt complained.
“That’s it!” I said, “ We go to the janitor’s closet get the keys and we’ll be free from this wretched building of education! C’mon, let’s go!”. We dashed around the school looking for the janitor’s room.
“Oh crud, it’s getting dark.” I said.
“Ok, I didn’t like this place at day, but I don’t like it any better at night.” Matt whined. Then, we heard:“ step… step… step….”
“Oh my god! It’s the ghost of the haunted mushroom that was devoured by brain sucking mutants from dimension X that has come to Earth in the form of squirrels to enslave the world and eat all our toenails!” I yelled.
             “What?” Matt asked.
“RUN!” I screamed. We ran around the school, all the classrooms were locked shut. “I’ve got to get out of here, with Matt…still alive, and no part of the body decapitated or mangled.” I thought. We ran into the library, which was for some reason, not locked. Matt and I ran behind the librarian’s desk. Then, we saw the figure. It was tall, with some kind of spear. I looked around for some kind of a weapon. I picked up a thick, heavy dictionary.
“I’ve got literature!  Come any closer and I’ll hit you with over 3,000 words!” I threatened. Then the light flickered on. We saw a janitor with a mop.
“What are you kids doing here?” asked the janitor.
“We’re trapped in school, all the doors are locked.” Matt explained.
“I guess I’ll unlock the doors, but first call your parents,” said the janitor.
“Okay.” I said, putting the book down. We called our parents and told them everything. My parents came to pick Matt and I up for Matt’s parent’s convenience.
“That is the last we’ll see of that place.” I said, in the car.
            “Until tomorrow.” He said.
             “Oh…crud.”
