The BFG
by Roald Dahl
I recently read The BFG by Roald Dahl. It is a story about a little girl named Sophie who was taken to a place called Giant Country by a giant named the BFG (big friendly giant). Though the BFG was the nicest and the smallest out of all the other nine giants. All the other giants were twice his size and always teased him and made fun of him. When I said the BFG is the nicest giant I meant that all the other giants were mean and horrid. The problem is that each night all of the other giants beside the BFG go running of to different countries each night to gobble up little children for supper. Humans are the only things giants eat each day while the BFG is stuck with a food that looks like a giant pickle because he refuses to eat humans no madder how disgusting those as he says snozzcumbers really are. The BFG hates those giants as much as Sophie does, and they have to come up with a way to get rid of the just the same, they have to send these ugly bruits down and out...but how?
I myself really enjoyed this book because I just loved the way Roald Dahl explained the details in this book. I especially loved the way he made the book so funny and so great that I could never put the book down. I enjoy every book of his.
One of the reasons why I love this book so much is because of the way Roald Dahl wrote the BFG's vocabulary. The BFG never went to school, and he doesn't know that much how to pronounce his words, which makes it so funny because he says stuff like...
scrumdidlidumtous - delicious
whizzpopping - farting
redunculous - ridiculous
crocodillies - crocodiles
exunctly - exactly
He also pronounces weird fraises like...
"You human beans are so full of air inside your little heads."
Or something like that. Another reason why I like this book is because it's a fantasy kind of book. I love fantasy books. I think there more exciting to read because people use their ideas in their imagination to put the book together.
The BFG is a great book to read! I would encourage/recommend readers that love fantasy or haven't read this book yet, to read the BFG, or as the BFG would say "It's the most tramederous book you could elver read!"
Sincerely,
Ashley McDonald
