As we crawled from the burning wreck of the taxicab we saw that the taxi driver was dead. He was crunched up between two trees. The only light was coming from the deformed taxicab. Now it was clear to us that the taxi driver was thrown out of the windshield when the taxi hit the tree.
The sun arose and it was obvious that the taxi crashed around 5:30AM. So we set to the task of putting out the still burning taxi. When we finished putting out the taxicab fire we looked around for our hunting gear. We found food, water, water purification tablets, mess kits, our pocket and hunting knives, hatchets, wet stones, tongs, tents, sleeping bags, our 22 rifles, our ammo, matches, butane lighters, flint and steels, first aid equipment, a hunting pistol, nails, extra clothing, soap, and blankets. It was at that point we decided who was going to hunt. After tough negotiation we finally decided that Zack and John would go hunting and I, Jim Wood (if you are wondering who I am), would stay and set up camp and start preparing dinner.
Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang! “Any time now Jimmy” Bang! I grabbed my trench digging shovel, and dug in for the worst. As Zach, and John ran into the clearing terrified, and jumped into my trench system out of breath with the bear following them. Bang as I shot it in the head. It fell to the ground with a thud. I demanded that Zach, and John went, and skinned the great beast. They agreed.
We thought it was about 5:00PM when we ate our dinner of bear. I suggested a contest to see who would get the hunting pistol, and holster. The rules are simple the supplies would be dispersed among us. The catch is you must make your own camp. NO RANSAKING! And with this we started. I immediately chopped several young trees, and made my tent. I did this by placing stakes about 9 feet apart, and 5 feet high. Then I tied them together, and placed a waterproof fabric over that, and finally staked it in. After I did that I dug a fire pit, and started a fire. I looked through my food stores, and found a large bulk of meat. I made a dingle fan to cook it. I started making bowls, and plates out of some wood I chopped. I casually looked over my shoulder, and saw two drooling faces staring at my meat.
Then it hit me I would need more water. The small amount I had was not enough, and if I left my meal would not have my meal when I came back so I started to dig. Then presto water started appearing. I took some leftover trees I had chopped, and gave my well support.
I ate dinner, and fell asleep in my tent. The next day I hea
rd a plane in the distance. So I ate some of my food from yesterday. I went out to collect greens for my fire. They would create a white smoke that I could signal with.
Whoosh, Whoosh, Whoosh. A helicopter. I took my greens, and through them onto the fire. Then I took a blanket, and started signaling the helicopter. We were saved.
