It was the first day of 5th grade for Greg. He was walking to school when he saw a kid riding a bike. The kid wasn’t going that fast, so Greg decided to try and steal it. He did it with out the kid getting hurt. When he got to school on his new bike he saw his best friend Tyler waiting for him in front of the school. “Hey Tyler.”
“Hi, where did you get that cool bike,” he asked.
“I stole it from some kid,” he answered.
“Cool, any one get hurt this time?”
“Nope,” I answered.
“Well I better get to class so I’m not late.”
“Yeah same here,” Then we both ran to our classes.
As Greg sat down
for class he was shocked to see the teacher writing down the homework on the
board on the first day of school. He stood up, walked up to the teacher and
said, “Do we have to have so much homework on the first day of school?”
“Yes,” she declared.
“What will happen if I don’t do it?”
“You have to.”
“No! I won’t do it.”
“Yes you will, and you have also earned a one way ticket to the principal’s office!”
As he was walking down the dark empty hallway he thought what might happen to him. What his parents would think when he got home that day. When Greg got to the door he noticed that his hands were sweating. He opened the door. The principal was sitting in his seat as if expecting him.
The principal was giving Greg a speech about why he shouldn’t talk back to the teacher. Every thing he said just went in one ear and out the other. Nothing the principal said to him made sense, he was too nervous to understand the words. The only thing he could make out was when he said, “Now get back to class and use those tips I gave you so you don’t get into trouble again. If you come back here there will be consequences.”
At lunch that day there was chicken, peas, and fries. Greg got his lunch and sat down with Tyler. As he sat down some kid threw some peas at him. He ignored it and didn’t do any thing. Then two more peas come flying at him. Then another, he couldn’t take it. Picked up his chicken and threw it as hard as he could. When it hit the boy he went flying back and fell out of his seat. Then all of a sudden a kid yelled, “Food fight!”
Food was flying everywhere. The peas were flying in the air like comets and when they hit something they would splat open. Then the principal came in. Greg and the kid who yelled food fight had to go to the principals, but the kid who Greg threw the chicken at was at nurse instead. Greg had to clean up the mess and he also got suspended for a day.
That day Greg was grounded. No television, no computer, no video games, no talking on the phone with friends, and music. Greg read some books that day. He couldn’t wait till school started he had decided that he wouldn’t cause any trouble when he went back. Starting that day he was nicer to kids and teachers, and following directions. He apologized to the principal, teacher, and gave back the bike.
