The relative location of the Dominican Republic is Right of Haiti, and left of Puerto Rico. The absolute location of Dominican Republic is 19 00N, 70 40W. It is an island in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The country is 200 miles long. The Dominican Republic is in Latin America. The country capital is Santo Domingo The Dominican Republic mostly speak Spanish and English. They speak Spanish because they live in Latin America. Taino words were adopted from Spanish to describe objects that they didn't know what they were. |

The
Dominican Republic has 1 major religion. 95% of Dominicans
are Roman Catholic. 16% of Dominicans are white, and 11% black, and 73%
are mixed. Their
Government has Representative Democracy. Their Independence day is on
February 27th. Their constitution was put into action on
November 28th 1966. The Dominican Republic has been taken over
many times. They have been taken over by Europe, Spain, France, Haiti, and
the United States. Christopher Colombus discovered the Dominican Republic.

Dominican republic has
many games and sports, just like us. They dance and are known for their
music. They play baseball; they mostly only play on Sundays, because they
work the other days of the week. They also play volleyball, soccer,
basketball, and have a special game called cockfighting. Cockfighting is
when you train your chickens to kill\fight other chickens. You place your
chicken in an arena, and let them kill each other. It’s like gambling,
because you bet money on which chicken will win the fight. An
important holiday in the Dominican Republic is Independence Day,
Christmas and Labor Day. |

People in the Dominican Republic eat beans, a lot of rice tubers, plaintains, pigeon peas, and peas. Plaintains are like bananas but have a hard shell. They cook them in boiling water. They also eat chickens. They drink coffee three times a day. They also drink a lot of fresh fruit juice. They also drink a lot of beer and rum. In the Dominican Republic wealthy people close like we ware. Wealthy people also ware a lot of necklaces and bracelets. But the other people ware rags and don't ware any necklaces and bracelets.. Sometimes for special occasions they ware colorful and bright things. They also ware a lot of hats to hide them from the sun. Some schools have fancy uniforms that kids ware.
