The kids were blabbing, the teachers were yelling. The bell rang and everyone rushed out the door. It was another normal school day. I packed up and left. I saw my friends Carl, and Mike.
We were walking down the street to go home when we saw the sign for Retroland. It just opened today.
“Jack, let’s go tonight.” yelled Carl
“ We can’t.” murmured Jack “It’s a school night.”
“Lets ask our parents it’s worth a try.” Mike said with doubt.
“Fine” Jack answered. “But I know it’s not going to work” he muttered
So we went home and asked them.
The lips on my mom's face were moving really quickly. Out came a roaring NO! So we called each other on the phone. We made a plan. It took us an hour to find out how we were going to get to Retroland without our parents seeing us. Then I got an idea. We were going to sneak out. It was a risky plan since my parents watch television every night and the television is right under my bedroom. So I got prepared and climbed down the window using my old scruffy wrinkled up brown bed sheet. Luckily my parents were in the kitchen getting a drink. So I got down unseen. It was dark out so I started running as fast as I could to Retroland since I was scared. We met each other at Retroland.
We all were amazed. The rides were awesome! The kids were screaming. The smell of fresh popcorn. There was also a rather sour smell. It was puke! So we just went straight to the rides. There were loops and you could even ride upside down. At the end we found out why there was puke. Now there was even more.
We went on more rides. It was 10:00pm when we started to leave. Then Carl stopped. We stopped too. There was a shooting star. It was shinning in the dark cold night like a campfire. We had so much fun we wished that the parents would be gone.
I woke up and got dressed in my old cloths that I had been wearing for three days. Then I went down stairs and got some breakfast. The only thing left was some Lucky Charms and expired milk. So I didn’t eat anything. I yelled my natural good morning but no one answered. I yelled it again still no one answered. Where could they be? I thought.
I went to Carl’s house and asked him if his parents were gone. He told me he hadn’t seen them since last night before going to Retroland. We walked down the street to Mikes house. He said his parents were gone too. We wondered where they could be. So we looked around for a while. We didn’t find them. It was around lunchtime and we were getting hungry. But none of us knew how to cook. We looked around some more. It was dinnertime when we stopped looking. We had looked all around town. Even in the trashcans. But there was one place we didn’t look.
There they were in the basement of my house. Sitting there playing Blackjack. They stopped playing and looked at us. We were wondering why they were sitting in the cold, damp basement. We went upstairs with them and they told us everything from the beginning to the end.
“Why were you hiding from us?” I questioned
“We wanted you to learn your lesson.” they answered
“About what?”
“Listening to you’re parents.” she exclaimed
“Ohh that. Now I’m in trouble!”
“Yeh she muttered
So we learned our lesson. At least for now. Just wait till next year.
