Because of Winn-Dixie

                        Book Review by Mattea Ringey

I recently read a book called Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate Dicamillo. It's a story about a girl named India Opal Buloni. She's a very lonely girl because her mother ran away from India when India was very young. But then she finds a dog in the Winn-Dixie grocery store and names him Winn-Dixie and brings him home, in the end she finally makes lots of friends that she didn't have before. I really enjoyed this book because I can relate to a lot of things and there are some great characters.

One of the characters that I really like is India Opal Buloni. I really like her because I can relate to her. I know I can relate to her because sometimes I'm lonely just like her,  and then after I'm lonely I hang out with friends  and that can kind of resemble her making new friends in the end. I also really like the plot of this book because even though it's kind of plain every once and a while it can get exciting. For example it is kind of exciting and also happy when in the end they all have a party and find Winn-Dixie after the long hunt India and her father had.

Because of Winn-Dixie is a great book. I would recommend it for adults and kids who like to read about something original but adventurous and exciting at the same time.
