The House with a Clock in its Walls

Book Review By Rachel Crews

This book is about a boy named Lewis who is going to live with his Uncle Jonathan because his parents died. I really liked this book because you can really get into it really fast. Also because this book is kind of a mystery and it makes you think harder and use your mind more. People who like mysterious kinds of books would like this book. This book also is hard to put down, you just keep reading it because you like it so much.

A problem in this book is that Lewis does something he knows he really should not have done and that causes problems for Lewis and his Uncle Jonathan. Another problem in this book is that in every wall in his uncle's house is here seems to be some kind of ticking from a clock in the walls that they can't turn off. Uncle Jonathan thinks that the strange wizard who lived in this house before they did, left a curse in the house and in the walls, which is why there is always ticking in the walls. Lewis's uncle would try to open up the walls and try to see what is in there, but then he would have to take down all the walls in the house.

I would recommend this book for readers who like mystery. This book is also pretty easy for a sixth grader to read, so a fourth or fifth grader could probably read this book and enjoy it. That is my book review and I hope you read this book.
