Cartropolis

A slight autumn breeze blew through Catropolis. The civilians were still in their cottages sleeping soundly. However, to the southwest of the kingdom, the Admiral could be found down by the river of Kavu fighting the god of water itself.

The huge monster was not only dangerous; it was a god and was immortal. The admiral swung his sword at it, trying to strike it so that the beast would be kept at bay long enough for the Admiral to get to Catropolis. He grimaced as Kavu struck his sword and it was knocked out of his hand. I can’t kill this thing on my own, I need help!

Ow… Oh no! The Admiral helplessly reached for his sword, but was too late, as the Kavu brought its claw down on it and smashed the blade from the handle. The moment the Admiral saw that, all of his pain and fear was all replaced by one thing: rage. He had crafted that sword and this beast had destroyed it. This monster broke my sword!!! He thought. “Hear me, monster! I will get revenge on you for destroying my sword!”

The Kavu looked down at the Admiral, a puny mortal who was practically crying for his sword that broke. The Kavu was unfazed by this mortal’s rage; it wouldn’t be able to hurt him. He was invincible. The Admiral got up, grabbed his broken sword’s blade and ran at the Kavu, holding his blade like a dagger….

The Kavu roared in pain and swatted angrily. The Admiral watched the Kavu roar. He had struck it in the arm with his dagger and it had penetrated the Kavu’s thick skin. As the Kavu was about to strike the Admiral a bright light exploded from where the blade had struck the Kavu and the Admiral shielded his eyes as blade began to change.

The blade grew as long as a greatsword and a handle appeared below the blade. Lastly the blade became blood red. It fell to the ground with a clatter and Kavu shrunk into the depths of the pond and the Admiral grabbed his new sword.

As he was walking back to Catropolis, the Admiral noticed a bright light that looked like a door a few yards away from him. The king walked out of the portal of light and the light faded. The king then spoke.

“I see you defeated the Kavu. And you got a new sword too.”

“Yes, the Kavu was a tough opponent, but the blood of the Kavu has enchanted my sword.” Without another word the two walked back to the kingdom. Upon arrival they found it in pandemonium. Everywhere they looked they saw soldiers destroying things and wrecking havoc. Rika the sorceress ran to them.

“Enemy soldiers are attacking us, we need the help of the great god Catrop.”

“Admiral, you stay here. Rika, we’ll go summon Catrop,” the king declared. The Admiral nodded and ran towards some soldiers, sword ready. He brought down his sword on a soldier’s helm and a loud banging sound echoed inside it. The other soldiers scattered and formed a circle around the Admiral. He was surrounded now. The soldiers raised their swords…

At the foot of Mt. Mystery stood the king and the sorceress. The sorceress pointed at the top of Mt. Mystery and uttered an incantation. A second later a portal appeared and they walked through it. At the top of the mountain a portal appeared and the king and Rika walked out. The portal then disappeared.

The plateau on the top of the mountain was astonishingly flat. On one side was an old crumbling building. In the center was a pit surrounded by spikes, which seemed to go downwards to the center of the earth, or at least to the bottom of the mountain…

The Admiral grimaced again. Just when he was about to be butchered, a man in black robes darted in and took the attackers down at the speed of light. This mysterious warrior had saved the Admiral. He then ran off towards another group of soldiers while the Admiral watched the carnage from a distance away.

At the top of Mt. Mystery the ritual was almost complete. Rika threw some soil around the edges of the pit and poured a small bottle of glowing liquid into the center. In a few seconds an intense light blasted out of the pit and into the sky. A figure stepped out of it. Twice as tall as a normal man, Catrop stood tall and stared at the two humans.

“Why have you woken me?” he asked simply.

“Your kingdom is under attack by Siloportac, we need your help to defend it.”

“Okay. I will help.” And without another word, Rika created another portal. She and the king walked through it and Catrop jumped off the edge of the mountain. Since he was a god, he was unharmed when he landed. When everyone was at the bottom of the mountain, they immediately saw a pillar of darkness shoot into the sky from the direction of Siloportac. Catrop noticed this immediately.

“Silop is here too.” He growled. I must leave, you two defend the kingdom and I will go take care of Silop.” He then ran into the distance.
