Alone
at the Beach
by Kristy
The
beach calls me,
Whenever I'm around.
It tells me I should be there,
Splashing playfully like children.
The
waves crash firmly,
Surrounding me is a sunset.
Great beauty it portrays,
Colors blended together like a finger painting.
Sand
crawling in-between my toes,
Jumping excitedly with the waves.
Seashells drift calmly with the sand,
They shimmer with a song.
I
often reflect towards this place
My passion for a day at the beach
Grows within me every day.
It takes my heart away.
But
still, the waves thrashing sadly,
Stays inside my ear.
The seashell that reminds me of this place
Quiets me in the palm of my hand.
Daddy
by Kristy
Daddy
makes things go better,
Daddy crashes all my fears.
Daddy teaches my responsibility,
Daddy helps me have charity.
Daddy
encourages my flute,
Daddy cares about my little needs.
Daddy quiets all my tears.
Daddy remembers all my special days.
Daddy
loves me very much,
Daddy comforts me in pain.
Daddy is strong, in both ways,
But daddy is now far away.

The
Herd of Horses
By Samara
Zoom
in:
Round,
Bulging hoofs beating, on the ground, through the grass.
Like drumsticks on drums, and knifes through butter.
How
could you miss the beautiful, short-but-soft-hair shimmering in the
sunlight?
It's like lotion on your skin, and light bulbs lightening up your room in
the morning.
The
tail, long and smooth, is swaying in the wind. Longer than a yard stick,
smooth enough to make music, and moving so beautifully you want to close
you eyes and feel the wind blow around you.
The
neck is long, stiff, and strong.
Strong as an ox, stiff as a board, and longer than you might imagine.
With
strong, round, big, wondrous heads,
you can see the muscles, feel the shape, and notice the humongous
features.
Zoom
out:
A
great deal of horses, so much, to great to extend, a lot, many, many
horses,
galloping together, watching over each other, doing everything together.
They
live as one, while they live individually.
They live together, glad they aren't apart.
A
herd of horses living their lives the only way they know how, to be happy
and free.
Horses inspire me to be what I can be, do what I want. That will make me
happy.
All I know is that I wish I were in a herd of horses,
with no problems to deal with but your predators.
People
look at horses and see a herd of horses.
I look at horses and see happiness and freedom.
To want freedom and to have freedom, are two different things,
and horses, they have their freedom.

My
Dream Land
By Anna
As
I drift into sleep,
I stop counting sheep.
The dream cloud forms,
My bed warms.
My
fantasy begins,
My dreams already brings grins.
The sun is shining,
The yellow road winding.
I
walk into a field,
The harm at a yield.
The grass is actually green,
None around that's mean.
I'm
in my own dream land,
To touch it all I reach out my hand.
Birds singing all around,
Nothing on the ground.
The
sky is like it's own lake,
A blue banner it will make.
No annoying noise,
And best of all no boys.
The
sight is nice on the eye,
No brother on me to spy.
No homework for now,
All I say is, "Wow!"
Just
as my dream is getting good,
I felt better it could.
And just when I was,
The alarm clock said, "Buzz!!!!"
The
Rock Throwers
By Anna
Down
at the river,
The cold air would make me quiver.
I'd put away my blocks,
I'd bring a bag of good rocks.
Dad
trying to show me how to skip them,
I would treat each one like a gem.
Trying and trying,
My rocks would start drying.
I
dreamt of getting it right,
I always thought I might.
I never really got it,
Now on it I spit.
But
now that I think,
The water is getting pink.
I tried it on the rock I bought,
Now I can skip a rock!!

In
The Winter
by: Kristen
In the winter
I look forward to snow,
Watching it
breeze, fly, and blow.
It glides
along, what a sight to see,
A silly
snowman standing next to me.
The trees are
bare,
And I don't
care,
Let them be
that way,
For my cheeks
are as cold as ice anyway.
The lake is
freezing,
And I have
found myself sneezing,
Oh well, what
can I expect, it's so breezy.
At this
point, from head to toe, I feel like an Eskimo,
Why do I love
the snow?
Camp
By Kristen
Down by the
bay,
Is
where I like to lay.
A place where
I can relax,
A place where
I love to unpack.
I love to go
for long walks,
Especially
down by the docks.
I love to go
for bicycle rides,
Of course
with a friend right by my side.
I love
climbing tall trees,
And watching
them blow swiftly in the cool breeze.
At dawn, the
sun is shining bright,
Rising
slowly, to our delight.
In the
morning I awake to peaceful sounds,
With the
background of a barking bloodhound.
I want to get
outside real quick,
For in a few
short hours, I will need a candlestick.
Shutting down
camp is the worst part of all,
All of our
things we have to haul.
I
can't wait until May, what can I say,
I love to go
camping down by the bay.

My Day
By: Anthony
Today
I'm going to the fair,
I asked my friends to meet me there.
We went on rides and ate some food,
Then we came home and played some Snood.
We
went on out in to the snow,
And built a fort that wasn't so low.
We came back in and had a drink,
And then we headed to the ice rink.
Now
I'll be going in to my bed,
And soon I'll be dreaming inside my head.
My
Bed

My
bed is so cold it's a pain.
It's so freezing it drives me insane.
I wake up in the night,
With oh such a fright,
That my bed is so stupidly lame.

The
Bucking Game
by
Nicole
I
sit on my horse, Dream,
And
post to the trot, she flows as steady as a stream.
I
go to the walk, and give her a nudge,
But
when I ask her to canter, she doesn't budge.
I
give her a sharp smack with the crop,
And
she pops me right over her top.
I
mount back up, looking at my new t-shirt stain,
And
Dream gives me another round of what I call, "The Bucking Game."
Princess
Carrie
by
Nicole
There
once was a princess named Carrie,
She
wanted a Prince who was strong and scary.
But
when she planted a kiss on a frog's nose,
Her
blond hair turned the color of rainbows.
She
knew then she was never going to marry!

I
was walking quietly with my club,
Preparing to silently hunt a bear cub.
As quick as a fox
And quiet as rocks,
We speedily pounced the bear cub.
I
am driving my truck.
Slow at the stoplights,
And quick at the highway,
My truck creeps along quietly.
And five minutes from now,
The store will await.
I
was hovering swiftly in my CarPod,
Making a journey to the StorePod.
I bought my FoodCapsules
As quick as a flash,
And on my way back to the HomePod,
I slammed into a TruckPod.

Snowy
Sonnet
by Lane
As
white as the snow, and gray as the sky,
As terra cotta as the maple trunk,
As green as the white pines,
As barren as the uncovered terrain,
As annoying as the crickets' loud chirp,
As dense as the snow that's packed down firm,
As crinkly as the deciduous branch,
As hard as the pond's frosty shell of ice,
As late as the winter's east sun-rising,
As blisteringly cold as winter's wind,
As bright as the night's shimmering North Star,
As sharp as the transparent icicle,
As organized as the birds' migration,
Is the majestic season called Winter.

Blank
Beauty
By: Sean
Frozen
plain land everywhere
Slick shiny ice coats everything
It's silent, almost like death
But there are soft chirps of birds like ancient chimes
The wind rustles lightly along the road
There's a brisk air tingling my nose with every breath
Thick blank snow weighs me down
The sky mirrors the ground: Dense, Cold, and gray
The sunsets' red is amazing
It makes me want to lounge and relax, just observing
But now the sun's gone down
But now there is no beauty
And now there is no light
So I have gone off-duty
Somber
Recollection (fiction)
By: Sean
He
believes that life is short
But I cannot retort
For my friend died yesterday
And underground is where he stayed
And
yet we let the days go past
Without a thought who breathes their last
So who would like to die today
Tomorrow's not another day

My
Past
By: Lindsay
When I was diminutive,
No more than two,
I was a good sport about moving here from California too.
But it was to cold and I got sick.
I was in the hospital
For three days which is long enough for me.
I had what is called Hemolytic Anemia.
It was a nightmare
But I lived through it
And now I am here telling this poem.
Mom
By: Lindsay
My mom is wonderful
I love her so,
Sometimes she is as quick as a thunderbolt though.
She is very nice though,
I wish all moms could be like mine.
She hardly gets mad and always forgives,
She says "Hey do you need some valentines?"
I am so glad I got to live with her.

the F.I.S. ski trail,
Seeing sheer, slippery ice on my
right
and huge moguls on my left.
Starting down slipping fast on
ice.
Sliding like penguins about ten
feet before
being able to stop.
Turning and twisting hopefully
trying to find some
fluffy white powder to grab on.
Stopping short to find places to
go next.
finally skidding at the bottom,
cheering,
and saying,
"That
was fun!"

Snow flurries continue I see
without a doubt,
it looks like we'll never have
another drought.
The snow keeps on falling
and the birds fly away but then
again they'll come back another day.
As the snow keeps on falling the needles
aren't dropping and the view is as white
as paper. the coldness nips at you toes and
soon you toes turn into colds. The picture of hot chocolate
hanging in your mind... Boy the snow looks fine.
tree branches frozen and the wreaths full of snow,
man this winter has sure put on a show.

Fears
Of Cheese
By Kyle
Every time I see a big piece of
cheese
I seem to get the chronic obstruction pulmonary disease.
If I see a big mound of ham,
My stomach gets knotty, like before a mid term exam.
When I go to the orthodontist I feel all queasy,
But the nurse says to calm down and take it easy.
When I go to the physical therapist you don't want to know what I feel,
I'll tell you one thing , I want to jump right back in my old automobile.

Road Trip
By:Kimmy
Today I went on a road trip,
it rained the whole way down,
as we drove through what seemed like,
every single town.
We started in Connecticut,
we ended in Vermont,
but before we had gotten started,
we dropped my brother off.
We got onto the highway,
but then we had to eat,
so we took a left on exit 3,
and ate at Micky D's.
We drove for many hours,
we watched the signs go by,
and then it simply came to me,
time really does not fly.
We got home at 11:00,
I want to go to sleep,
and the greatest thing about it is,
I'm doing it again next week.

Sailor Pluto
by Hang
As the gates of time commence,
One may see a girl,
With a lack of style.
Who is she?
And where does she hail?
The girl is a senshi, a sailor,
With the power of time and the dead.
Sailor Pluto,
Keeper of time,
Queen of the dead.
Who knows all,
And is very powerful.
Keeping negaverse villains in line.
Princess of Pluto
Who is the next ruler of Pluto.
Sailor Pluto,
Keeper of time,
And Queen of the dead.
My Best Friend
by Hang
My best friend is a girl my age,
She's the best friend you can have.
Everything about her rocks,
Her attitude, personality, and herself.
Both of us have a lot in common:
We're the oldest of two other kids,
We're both preteens,
And we love to shop at the mall.
We do everything together:
Shopping in New York,
Talking on the phone for about one hour,
And making fun of people who hates us.
Best of all, she's always there when I need her most.
My best friend is....

I look out my window I see my cat black as night.
He doesn't blend in with the snow he jumps out of sight.
I look out my window I see the snow white and beautiful.
It sparkles in the light of my neighbors window.
I look out my window I see icicles dripping.
Some are on the fence the fence that is tipping.
I look out my window I see the shed.
The shed is big with door that usually move but the wind is dead.
I look out my window I see where the tree used to be.
I used to clime where the tree used to be.
I look out my window I see a light.
I can tell its far away because it's not bright.
I look out my window I see a lot of things.
Wait until spring I might even see more.

Take Heed Thy Warning
By Benjamin
Be forewarned.
As the sun rises,
It is stained with blood and gives no warmth.
Men will lose their intelligence,
Their yearn to learn.
Ignorance circles the Sphere of Truth.
So try hard, before we lose,
For when all creation is at stake,
Beware; ignore all thoughts of hate.
Too much to lose, with nothing to gain,
Why shan't we complain?
When Truth and Justice are covered in Mist,
Deceiving all Knowledge and riling us up,
Let us ignore it,
For if we don't, we shall surely all demise.
Tyrants of the Sky
A golden coin,
More valuable than life,
Buys heat and warmth,
Except at night.
It is then that silver reigns,
Yet sadly,
Without a fingerprint.
A Thief and a Tyrant,
Yet unwillingly so.

Space

Flying, soaring engines roaring,
Never thought I'd do this touring.
Traveling though a deep dark nothingness known as space.
Ouch, an alien just punched me in the face.
Oh look out it's the asteroid belt, is that my sister gym sock I smelt.
Then I heard another voice near,
Then my body filled with fear.
Then I realized who it was,
Mission control to Jamie fuzz.
Loud and clear,
your destination site is near
That's when spaceship 9 began to shake
And then my mom shook me wake.
